Overview
Rain and Spice is a typographic poster series that explores the concept of "Home" through poetic storytelling and visual experimentation. Inspired by childhood memories spent in nature, the project centers around a short, original poem that reflects fleeting moments, sensory details, and the emotional texture of growing up. The goal was to create typographic compositions, using minimal tools, while maintaining a strong conceptual core rooted in nostalgia and personal narrative.
Approach
The challenge was to design the entire series using only a single typeface and a two-color palette. The words and line of the poem were treated as a standalone visual piece, allowing for exploration of typographic form, rhythm, and structure. By deconstructing the text, the posters play with hierarchy, tension, and negative space, turning language into visual rhythm. Subtle wordplay, layered meanings, and rhythmic pacing echo the poetic structure, resulting in designs that are playful and introspective. The limited tools encouraged restraint and creativity, pushing the expressive potential of typography.
